About ROBERT JORDAHL
Robert Jordahl (BMI) was born in Iowa in 1926 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He earned Bachelor of Music (Theory) and Master of Music (Education) degrees at the University of Texas in Austin, and a doctorate in music theory from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Dr. Jordahl was on the faculty of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, from 1968 until his retirement in April 1999. Prior to his retirement, Dr. Jordahl received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities for work at Dartmouth College and the University of Kansas. He also held numerous positions as choirmaster and organist, and earned a Choirmaster Certificate from the American Guild of Organists.
