About ROBERT MICHAELS

Lyricist Bob Michaels has been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for almost 40 years. He has been an active member of their music ministry as a vocalist, percussionist, playing hand bells, and participating in many cantatas. It was during this time that Bob had the privilege of participating in Maureen Griepentrog’s creative process by collaborating on the lyrics of a few of her compositions. Bob found this to be a blessing and an encouragement to his faith as well.

Professionally, Bob is a computer engineer. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, he had the opportunity to sing with the Penn State Singers and to tour Europe with them. Bob earned his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.

Bob is married to Gretchen and they have two college age children. In his free time, Bob enjoys time with family and friends, biking, hiking, swimming, and lending a hand when someone needs help. In the past year, Bob has taken up rowing on an indoor rowing machine and has rowed over 1,000,000 meters.
